The world has been stormed in turn by Internet censorship, news for cash, cyber-wars, mass-surveillance, Wikileaks, phone-hacking scandals and much more. Our information eco-system is besieged regularly, has eroded at some points and is incomplete at others.
We, the authors of this blog, are interested in law and good governance practices. We begin this as a conversation about the media through which information travels: about how new developments in the Indian legal framework, information technology and business models impact our democracy and our human rights in the context of our complex socio-economic and political system. This blog will also discuss international incidents that affect the media and the rights to freedom of speech and privacy both because in a globalised world, these events affect us, and because comparison can offer us richer perspectives to our own situation.
Each post remains the individual view of its author. We hope that you will join our conversation.
